Understanding Meditation
There are lots of different ways to meditate. Whatever your reason for taking up meditation, it may seem intimidating in the beginning, but let’s not make it difficult.
Mindfulness is a technique of becoming acutely mindful of everything that happens within the reach of our perception. It is simply the act of purposefully noticing what you’re doing when you are doing it.
It can affect the Amygdala, the section of our brain that responds to fear, stress and anxiety, and also the limbic system, the part of the brain that regulates emotion.
Practiced regularly, meditation can enhance your focus in different regions of your life and thereby enhance your quality of life. Meditation is in fact excellent medication!
